How hot can you go?
Quick Update: Nothing much has changed, I'll see the counselor in the morning and then we will see...
In other news: Last night when I went to Sam's they were out of (or worse no longer carrying) Sadie's Hot Salsa. Luckily they still had the El Pinto Green Chile Sauce but alas it only comes in Medium heat in the big size. Yes I do buy salsa in bulk, because I eat that much of it. Hey it's a serving of vegetables and fat free, if only that were true of what I put it on!
In no particular order, these are my favorite salsa's from the store.
!.
El Pinto Green Chile Sauce (Hot) from Albuqueque NM. This is really intented as an enchilada type sauce, I however use it for salsa and often mix it with a cooked roast to make muy sabrosa burritos. It has thick meaty strips of green chile, OMG it is really good.
2.
Sadie's Hot from Albuquerque, NM. Again very good, this last bottle we got was pretty dad gum hot, only draw back is I can't eat as much and I don't come as close to meeting my USDA guideline of vegetables.
3.
Hazaderous Burning Coals by High Mesa in La Luz NM. This is hot and my husband won't eat it, his stomach isn't cast iron like mine.
4. Dick's Cafe Salsa from Las Cruces, NM. Excellent! I haven't found a link for it, they just started marketing it. One of the best restaurants in town, they have great fries, burgers and the best chile around!
5.
Pedro's Salsa from Albuquerque, NM. Again a truly excellent salsa. This one boasts no vinegar and is low sodium. But you won't know what you are missing. I recommend the hot. (I know it is a big suprise.)
If you want to try some authentic New Mexican salsa's, I would highly reccomend these and I think they almost all available for mail order. Or contact me and I'll send you some!
